About the Author
Bennett L. Schwartz got his Ph.D. in 1993 from Dartmouth College in New Hampshire. Since then he has been at Florida International University in Miami, Florida, where he is currently Professor of Psychology and a Fellow of the Honors College. He is author or editor of 8 books as well as over 50 journal articles and chapters. His textbook, Memory: Foundations and Applications, 2nd edition (Sage Publications) was published in 2014. At FIU, he has won several teach awards and currently teaches courses in Memory,Cognition and Sensation and Perception. His main research area is metacognition, but he has also conducted research in areas as diverse as visual percepton to evolutionary psychology to the language of thought to memory in non-human primates. Schwartz also serves on the editorial board of several journals and recently served as Associate Editor of the Journal of Applied Research in Memory And Cognition.

John H. Krantz received his psychology PhD from the University of Florida. After graduate school he worked in industry at Honeywell on visual factors related to cockpit displays. In 1990, he returned to academia taking a position at Hanover College. John has done extensive research in vision, human factors, computers in psychology, and the use of the web as a medium for psychological research. He has been Program Chair and President of the Society for Computers in Psychology and Editor of the journal, Behavior Research Methods. John was the first to develop Web experiments in psychological science and lead the way on techniques for sending multimedia via the Web. He has served as a faculty associate for The Psychology Place developing interactive learning activities and created psychology’s first global web site for the Association for Psychological Science (APS). In addition, he is an author on both the Cognitive Toolkit and PsychSim 6. John is well known for his widely used online psychological experiments related to sensation, perception and cognition. His current research is focused on using the web for psychological research and modeling the visual system.

Multiplication is the basic biological function of all organisms and is dependent upon replication of genomes. This is also true of plant viruses even though they possess a minimum of essential genetic information. Phylogenetically, replication-associated genes constitute the core elements of RNA virus genomes while other gene modules are considered as accessory elements. However, the biochemical studies on plant virus RNA replication were in their infancy even in 1999-2000. The picture has improved much since structural and sequence requirements of viral RNA replication, and synthesis are beginning to be understood, primarily because of the genetic, molecular, biochemical, and enzymatic studies conducted during the last six years. Certain virus-encoded essential proteins, nucleotide sequence motifs, and RNA secondary structures are central to virus RNA replication, which has a number of stages. Each stage is a complex phenomenon requiring specific factors and conditions. All this has generated much new information so that replication of plus-sense RNA plant viruses has now emerged as a rapidly developing field. However a lot of distance still has to be covered and traversing this distance could prove difficult because no one organised corpus of knowledge is available. Hopefully, this book fills the niche and generates understanding of multiplication of plus-sense RNA plant viruses, especially at molecular level. Nearly all the information on various aspects of plant virus multiplication has been collected, collated, and organized in eleven chapters spanning 332 pages so that this book comprehensively covers all facets of multiplication of plus-sense RNA plant viruses. This is book gives very playable lines with 1.d4 without giving highly analyzed lines that are constantly revised. This is invaluable for me because I want a readily playable repertoire without going deep into every possible reply. I especially like the repertoire for the Nimzo-Indian (4.e3, deferred Saemisch) and the King's Indian (Saemisch-style offshoot), which I have had difficulty playing against until I used this repertoire.

My only criticism with the repertoire is that sometimes the lines are somewhat tame for my style--for example he chooses a Slav exchange variation.

However, I supplement this repertoire with Steffen Pederson and Graham's QGD for the attacking player. Between these books, I have basically everything I need to play 1.d4.

Good, short bio of a fine man

Good bio by a really good guy. A pretty devout Catholic, Montalban laces his short trip to a retreat with the story of his life. The book is not long so it is short on detail on his individual films but leaves you with admiration for his dedication to family and his craft. For those who only know him from Fantasy Island, I hope many will look back at his early film career. I particularly recommend his musical outings in Esther Williams films and with Jane Powell in Two Weeks with Love. Though not a singer or dancer by trade he admits, he does have a number of great dances with the legendary Cyd Charisse to his credit. Hopefully they will release Mark of the Renegade on video some time soon, another of his forgotten older films with Charisse.

A really good book!

I very highly recommend this auto-biography written by actor Ricardo Montalban. It is a great book for any fan of his. It was so interesting I couldn't put it down. It deserves as many stars as it can get. Read it and you wont be disappointed. He is an actor that was true to his Catholic faith through it all, and is a great father and husband His life is really a wonderful example for anyone. I'd give it ten stars if I could.

I am so proud to be related to Ricardo. his teachings in this book are very touching and relatable. He is not only a great figure for Mexican people but for the entire world, he was considered "the epitome of continental elegance, charm and grace on film and television and in the late 1940s and early 1950s" he reinvigorated "Latin Lover" style in Hollywood without achieving top screen stardom. Moreover, unlike most minority actors of his time, he fought to upscale the Latin (particularly, Mexican) image in Hollywood. His kind and humane personality is contagious and his incredible values and story are something to really admire. I strongly recommend this book to everyone.

He has a longstanding commitment to researching and writing about professional ethics for the talking therapies and promoting mental well-being. He is currently a consultant to the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy on professional ethics and standards, a member of the Ethics Committee for the British Psychological Society and the Executive Council of the International Association for Counselling.
